Artist
At a young age I started taking pictures as a way to keep a log of all the things I never wanted to forget. By using analog I could create a physical collection of all the things I experienced. In my attempt to battle the fickleness of time, I came to realize that the photos I collected did not act as an accurate catalogue of memories. Over time I've come to realize that the pictures don't always tell the truth, they don't always bring back the same feelings felt in the actual moment.
I want my work to be as temporal as memories and the world around me. I use experimentations with film and chemicals to make work that is ambiguous and based on feelings instead of tangible memories. My installations are transitory and aim to create a sublime space of escape from my memory. I like to work on a large scale to consume the spaces around me.
